God can this be over. I am SICK of romance books having a sex scene right after a vulnerable and emotional unviel of a character's feelings/trauma. Why do we do this? It's sick. It's manipulative. It's gross. I am over it.

I am no DV expert, but something about this representation doesn't sit well with me. Maybe it is because Mal is actually unhinged and Rowan's concern for her is actually valid - that doesn't mean his actions for control are valid, but his concern definitely is.
