any respect for heathcliff is gone after this entire isabella ordeal. i am beyond it. the pacing is terrible at this point and i have to force myself to continue reading. no character has my sympathy and that makes it a very hard book to read. i also just passed heathcliff calling isabella a slut and going on about the ^dynamics^ of his treatment of her and i think they took this as the starting point for the movie

I feel like I need to read this again, just to appreciate it fully.

Man, this is intense. I really have to think about what it is that makes this book so good. I think I’ll have to read it again after I’ve finished it. I just feel like I didn’t completely catch the vibe. And at some points, I think I was too stupid to understand the plot, but it could’ve been that it was supposed to be written like that so that nobody could understand it. In that case, I feel better now

This was one of the best books I’ve ever read. Period. I don’t even know what to say, I’m so fucking depressed

i love the way that the chapter about gaia is basically a call for help from the earth, and its still relatable today. she says she cant carry all the humans, and is it different today? no, we still cant feed anyone and our entire population is too high. so i loved how it was a subtle hint

I was highly confused because I had put the book down for a rather large amount of time, and promptly forgotten about most of the events. So I started again, reread most of creation myth, and now I’m up to date again. I’m making such slow progress, it seems like a neverending story. This will probably not be my favorite book, for I, in spite of being a fan of heavy literature, too, like to read things that make sense
