i cannot say often enough how much i love this

finished this book in 1 1/2 days, i was very invested
it took about half the book for the momentum to really pick up, i guess because it was planned as a trilogy the pacing is far slower than it would be for a standalone. not really sure about falling for the guy who bullied you, but i guess cause he’s ✨misunderstood✨ it’s ok :)
loved the world building tho, always been a big fan of hollys writing style

no idea how i didn’t get that plot twist beforehand! points for surprising me and being unexpectedly cute actually

any author who uses „sheesh“ unironically in a published work should be banned from the book market

i am amazed by my own discipline. how did i get through this. i have read better fanfiction on shady websites… how did this book get published? how was this book written? i literally put the speed to 1,5 for it to be over faster. i had no idea someone could make enemies to lovers, by far the sexiest trope to exist, so flavorless and bland. congratulations. at least i didn’t spend any money on this lol

just saw that the german edition is dubbed „totgesagt leben länger“ lmao these translations are continuing to be hilarious

my astonishment for this woman grows with every page. what is that if not feminism? and how tf could she have been able to predict all the shit the church would go on to do to women in the following centuries (until now, if you ask me) ?? “proud bedpost” should also enter my vocabulary along with “itchy-fingered bedfellow” lol

any respect for heathcliff is gone after this entire isabella ordeal. i am beyond it. the pacing is terrible at this point and i have to force myself to continue reading. no character has my sympathy and that makes it a very hard book to read. i also just passed heathcliff calling isabella a slut and going on about the ^dynamics^ of his treatment of her and i think they took this as the starting point for the movie

I never would’ve guessed I’d be so involved in this book, but now I’m actually quite cool with it. Turns out it isn’t as stupid as I thought it was lol

Sabran + Ead = dreamteam best ship forever 💖 also jannart and niclays but one of them is dead and the other one is an asshole so I’m not sure what to think 😭
