I do think this author is a bit guilty of, perhaps not “romanticising” but dramatising the disgust reactions she feels/thinks. It is a little much sometimes

Not really sure phasing out dissection is the right way to go tbh

I will say though, I don’t agree that everyone who works in some kind of field involving dissection is necessarily suppressing their emotional response and that they’re all some kind of weird rude freaks.

I do think this is a sort of interesting approach for someone who hasn’t maybe been involved in surgery and anatomy themselves, I’m intrigued to see where her personal anecdotes take us.

The writing is extremely modern and almost blunt in its tone, and I recognise that’s part of linking Medusa’s story to modern issues, but it does sort of take you out of it a bit

This is… a lot more about cat poo than I thought it would be.

With the greatest of respect, I’m not entirely sure who signed off on the “picking random bits of the story to include which don’t actually follow chronically and make it hard to read” because it is a questionable choice
