Well this sure took a horrific turn.

What the heck? I thought this was going to be light-hearted and silly. I did not sign up for electrical shocks to keep the cats in line or to read about them being forced to viciously fight one another to the death while their owners (who are mostly children) are made to watch without warning. I have very strong feelings about this and may not continue the book. I don’t know.

Despite some trepidation going in, the story and main character are sucking me in. I think I’m in for something wonderful.

Wow. I’m only an hour and a half in and I’M glad her mom died. Poor Jennette.

This is a great one. I hope the last half can keep up with the first half.

Why am I reading this despite the one thousand-plus one star reviews? Am I that desperate for something to rant about?

Holy crap, what a line! This is turning out to be another surprisingly great James Moore outing so far.

In honor of Catalina I will finally tackle For Rye.

This is not what I was expecting. Figures. I already bought the second one. It’s not bad, per say, but it’s not horror either.

This is weird, man. Honestly though, what did I expect when I picked up a sci-if about a universe run by man-sized frogs?

The first half of book two was leaps and bounds better than the first half of book one. If this is what I’m in for as the series continues I better invest in the next few books.

Holy cow, that escalated quickly!

For the love of all that is holy, why am I only halfway through this thing?

Naomi Ault continues to impress me. This will be another five star read for sure.

And now he’s killed his daughter’s dog. I hate this piece of crap. If he dies I’ll make this a five star review. If he doesn’t I’ll eat every instance of him being a jerk, which is pretty much the whole book.

I've been taking my sweet time with this baby. It's been my go-to read in between novels, and so far I've loved everything in it.

I'm only going to finish reading this in hopes that the main character (who is the worst father, husband, and doctor I've had the displeasure of reading about) dies in some horrible fashion.
