This book is an emotional one. A lot to ponder on as these women go off on a mission to South Africa. Are they ready for all they will encounter? Mostly, they were looking to get away from their current situations at home, and now they are being called upon to help those less fortunate and ill.

The setting of this book is in Catalina which is a delight for me since I’m from California.

I’ve really been enjoying this warmhearted story.

If u have read this and liked it, may I suggest reading another human interest story called An Invisible Thread by Laura Schroff. This is a true story about a homeless boy in New York. New York Times Best Seller. It is very good too.

This takes place in Boston in the 1600’s. I’m very unsettled as to how Mary, a married woman with an abusive husband, is treated. Physically abused and seeking a divorce, she is minimized and things might end poorly in court. So unjust!!

More than half way through the story and I feel like it is stalling out for me. Anyone else feel that way?

Debbie Gill is on page 108 of 320 of The Unmaking of June Farrow
I’m loving this book so far. It’s a time travel book with a great storyline about the women of the Farrow family. They are labeled as strange in their town. I Can’t hardly put it down!

Debbie Gill is on page 81 of 457 of Island Beneath the Sea
I am on page 81 and I am wondering why I picked this book to read. I’m currently struggling to read it but will continue. One of the things I don’t like about it so far is that it is told from a narrative role. Characters have not came alive at all, and there is very little conversation between characters. There are 457 pages to this book so I will move forward and see if anything worthy of my time takes place.

I am on page 68 of this book and I’m not sure I’m gonna be able to finish it. I’m gonna stick with it awhile longer and see if it gets better. The first 50 pages were weird!

The first quarter of the book moved slow for me. But it picks up after that and has some unexpected turns! I’m just about done so I’m anxious to see how it ends!!
