the writing keeps changing between last and present tense. whoever edited this needs to be fired.

the magic system is really confusing. i didn’t really clock it last book, but they never really explained each of the devereauxs’ powers and how exactly the ethos works. sometimes knight has wind powers, but he can also erase memories? confusing. but the writing is so confusing. i’m lucky im able to grasp the plot.

can i just mention that every conversation he has with his friends revolves around women? it’s hard core locker room talk.

her hand was broken but suddenly it’s fine? one second she’s in the library, the next in bed? the sentences were barely separated by an indent, when they should’ve been separated by the line to indicate a passage in time

already in love with this man. arrogant but like hot about it. foodie, crochets, wants true love, pro hockey player. sign me up.

i think meryn’s family descends from the original queens and that killian has been trying to kill them off. taking saela in order to motivate her to join the military and die, killing her mom, convincing her not to trust herself and her visions.

too much going on. confusing writing. not enough romance. why are there like 3 different major plot points? viv is annoying. characters are flat. i don’t find myself caring for them whatsoever. dialogue is basic. the fantasy system is hard to understand. why is the map only of campus and no astera, too?
