I can feel a triathlon coming on

I wish I was reading this before watching the show, it’s far harder to imagine my own story when I find myself re-living the tv show from memory.

This is really good, I’ve had it for a few years and can’t believe I’m only now getting around to reading it. As someone with at times a rather ridiculous life I can relate to the 5 scrapes I’ve read thus far

Very captivating, slightly troubling subject matter but “its not real; it’s only a book”

Much better than the Netflix show, my imagination is really running wild. Although I’m grateful the tv show prepared me for some of the gory details, the book is warming me up slowly to some of the more involved topics. Some of the later chapters are of ominous name

This has taken me on a historical and emotional journey through the foreshore, silt and mud of the Thames back through its Victorian grotesque to Roman roots. The seemingly dirty and loner hobby is exposed as surprisingly delicate and of great social and anthropomorphic motivation.

A strong start on book #2

Tim’s brutal description is becoming increasingly graphic, however having recently completed a cycling tour I understand this is justified and necessary. Carefully dabbling in humorous anecdotes alongside chilling historical reflection of civil war massacres and prisoner camps, and doing so very respectfully. His clumsiness in bike mechanics and route planning logistics is troubling to me.
