the part of Sam's dream about Gilly is so not relevant. and here i thought he didn't see her that way since the writing didn't seem to hint that. until now i suppose.

Also, the end of Sam's chapter? idk if the rider on the elk was a thing in the series but dAYUM im shook

the evil, cruel, horrible Lannister side of Jamie is much better shown in the book, which i prefer to the show-Jamie. genuinely much better

barely made a dent into the thing and i've already sent a sizeable first impression to my partner. i'll just be copy-pasting a bunch of that and add along the further i get into the book:

the writing style is kind of "put first immediate thought of the protagonist into writing without really thinking much of it, not matter how choppy the sentences are"

i've yet to determine whether i like it or not

i don't think i've ever been horrified and devastated to the point of wanting to put a book down until I read Daenerys' introduction to the Unsullied.

i did end up putting the book down after that chapter though. what the helly.

I dont know why people think Arya's chapters are boring; I find myself wanting to skim over Bran's chapters.

Also couldn't stop laughing over Theon and Tyrion's chapters (still haven't decided if I like book Tyrion or series Tyrion more)

Picking this up again after my exam, and my post-exam deadscroll period.

Just finished part one, and holy shit maybe i'm just very emotional rn but i had to stop myself from crying on the bus. I did get teary-eyed though.

Otherwise, so far a wonderful narration of events. Loads of "wtf" moments, as expected.

Sadly, Cassie has once again shown herself to be a slow, silly girl who can't see the bigger picture. Like. Girl. wtf.

Cassie be a little silly sometimes but I still like her a lot, which is very surprising to me tbh. I may have lowkey walked into this with a lot of doubt, despite seeing that Lee Child liked this book as well, but i'm very pleasantly surprised

The Woman needs therapy. And I think Cassie going for Drummond is very book-girl coded. But that's just my opinion :)

I need to get used to a more modern form of writing after reading older books, but so far I like it. I absolutely the concept, and the characters are being introduced smoothly, something I greatly appreciate (esp after reading Verity *shudder*).

Cassie seems to be level-headed so far, and im crossing my fingers and hoping she doesn't make stupid decisions.
