help i can‘t find within the walled city ANYWHERE

puhhh and the crying continues

this book already made me cry not once, not twice, but THREE times within the first 30 pages. while it grapples with themes of grief, motherhood, friendship with joan didion (?!), etc., it's the mundanity of it all that makes me so emotional (and the intimacy of a letter, needless to say).
