I liked previous book by author but this one wasn't hooking me. To be fair, I've not read YA like I did 4+ years ago.

Still as good as the first time!

Didn't finish. The author's story telling style doesn't do much for me. Had trouble focusing.

So frustrating. Hard these days holding onto my kindle for longer than 5 minutes before falling asleep or getting lost in thoughts. It's like I'm Alice and I've fallen down the rabbit hole of life. Fiction is paler than my life right now.

All of my friends here who see this will be stunned. A man is convinced I'm honest to God possessed by a demon. Ordered me to leave his life if i didn't submit to curing. I LEFT!

Haven't picked this up for several days. Have lost the track of the plot and players. Do I stick with this?

Struggling to stay invested. Story is so slow. However, it might not be the book's fault as I've had a lot of trouble staying focused on recent days.

Re-reading to refresh story in my mind. Note to self as I never got around to writing review. Breaking 4th wall. Don't think she's written dystopian before but this is definitely as much dystopian genre as it is classic ML fantasy and prime example of her world building talent.

My friend will be on this tonight and asked everyone to post about it to get more people watching it. She's not the only friend I've known to have stalkers. It's insane what people will say & do to justify themselves.

One of the books inside me to hopefully write one day is the experience of seeing a very successful dog rescue destroyed.

Don't hate this but still has not connected with me.

Struggling a bit stay connected. Having a real problem with Coryn's stubbornness to keep going even after she finds out very very quickly how unprepared she is. At every turn, she's faced with people who want to take her robot companion for themselves. She knows she's helpless without Paula.
No one is who they seem.

There's no larger cause or brave quest involved either.

I feel like Alice.Did I fall down the rabbit hole? Would have tossed this aside early except it bears a prestigious name on the cover. I've loved his books. Who the heck wrote this book?
It's the writing. Some truly abysmal sentences. Strange narration. Not clever, just sloppy and lazy.

Whoa. ...started off with a real bang. Only stopped reading because my brain executed sleep override.

I'm still not marking this as finished till I at least finish the flower. Yet I'm upgrading to 5 stars because it took only 2 days to get an answer about the confusion over step 12. Couldn't find direct contact for Carole. Emailed Interweave, her current publisher. They responded asking for clarification. Then today, I get email from Carole herself. Marvelous! Answer: gather the first 5 *point* beads!

Gorgeous projects. I was so taken by the Gardenia one that I immediately went looking for where to buy the petal pearl beads (also sometimes referred to as keshi petals?)

I'll note though, definitely for the more experienced beader. Fewer illustrations, more textual description of the steps. That translates for me as expectation the beader can visualize the steps on their own. I'll give it a go anyways.

I've been leery of larger books lately because I'm afraid of getting stalled in them. Should have known better. If not for calls of nature, I'd be glued to my Kindle. Will return and not likely budge again till its completely dark in the house.

Picoult for the win.

I've read through all the project pages. Usually I file for later use but never get around to making anything. This time, I decided to try and make the flower embellishment for one bracelet. Does double duty as clasp.

Problem is lack of a diagram for steps 11-12. Crucial omission as it gathers the work into a flower form. Not as intuitive as the author thought.

Not a book to zip through. Still enthralled.

Hovering at around 3.5 stars for me. My god this book is LONG. Still a ways to go but feeling like it could have been cut by a third without losing much.

I Think I'm missing out on some of the nuances that would be there if I'd read the previous books. But it's going OK reading it as if a stand alone novel.

What made the first 15% difficult was keeping all the characters straight along the intense dislike or even hatred they all seemed to have for each other.

Narrator is annoyingly self obsessive. Possibly incapable of empathy.

The Education of Dixie Dupree excerpt captured my attention enough to jump ship right to the ARC I already had for it. Will finish the other excerpts later.

An M. Night Shamylan feel.

Loved Margaret Atwood's comics.

What a beautiful mind. I don't follow newspapers or news magazines so was unaware of his long time status as a social commentary writer. Incredibly articulate. Highlighted so many passages in the introduction alone. Everyone would do well to read this book. Can tell that he really will reframe the horrible problems today to better highlight the causes for extreme racism.

Art is hard to read on tablet. Have to zoom in on each page. Technical details. Natch.

Hasn't lived up to the comparison yet but not failing either. Jury still out but it's kept my interest.

Interesting so far.
