Halfway through and I'm not sure how I feel about the narrative the author finally has set up. It really depends on how the rest of the book unfolds.

Native people in a fictional dystopia????? How have I never heard of this about this book?? Unfortunately, it's pretty racist 😬😬😬😔😔😔

I am struggling to connect to this book because the writing style is akin to a screenplay. The chapters are easy to read at least.

I'm so unsatisfied by this book and I'm super sad to be feeling this way because I was excited to read this. This book was super long and yet it felt like it didn't fully explore various concepts to its fullest potential. Most egregious to me was how much the 300 years was wasted character development-wise! The author could have done so many cooler things with our immortal main character...

Now I'm at another slightly rough patch in terms of me trying to get through this book. It's funny how this book is titled as though our female protagonist is the central focus but midway through the book this guy character starts sharing the central stage with her and hmmmmmmm I don't know how I feel about that.

Leave it to me to get insanely attached to a side character that will never be seen again 😭😭😭 How am I supposed to move on and read the next chapter...

Part 1 was rough in spots for me but after Part 2, I'm feeling much more hooked on reading 👍
