am i just stupid or is this book incredibly difficult to get through? it’s taking me so much time to get through the maze of words, even as the arguments and ideas presented are important for my research…

might have to dnf.

amidst all the reading and writing for my PhD thesis, (often trashy) fantasy novels have been a source of breaks. but i'll update my PhD reading list soon. it's just that most of the subject matter is so heavy (and often leaves me feeling hopeless) that i find myself unable to finish reading the academic/theoretical books. hence, they continue to be in my currently reading or tbr.

Yep, still no idea where this is going.

I don’t read a lot of murder mystery but call me completely mystified by this plot. I can’t tell how it is going to be resolved.
