Reading Sir Terry's biography made me want to read another Discworld so here we are

I swear to God if this book tries to make a love triangle I will quit it right here. Right now. I don't care if I'm 20% away from the end

I used to read romance that used the pregnancy trope, which now is definitely NOT something I think should be in any plot. I'm trying to just figure this story out and find what's so redeeming about it.
I wanted to read a perspective like Win's, both as a child of a teen mom and as someone with limb difference who is also fiercely independent. But now I feel like this book is 90% pregnancy plot and I'm not about it.

Am I hate reading this book? I might be hate reading this book.

I don't like it when people are condescending, but I don't like it when people are really rude back, too. There's actually been a lot of cringe-worthy moments so far. (Sarah. Every time Sarah is there.) Looking at the reviews, I'm trying to hold out long enough for the discussion of the themes that are more interesting to me. I'm not sure if I will if the discussion of those themes is just more monologue-ing.

Yup, skimming is turning out better. I can't stand this prose anymore. I *just* need to know how this plot ends. So much more bearable now.

I WILL finish this book because I would like to know what happens first-hand but I'm now in the stage of skimming because I cannot take this writing style anymore. It's so maddening. Being obtuse or complicated on purpose as a way of generating interest is just... not... working. Yes I get that these characters aren't meant to be likeable, just fascinating, but they're not anymore. They are pissy and petty.

The amount of shuddering I'm doing while listening to this audiobook...

I thought things were already absurd several pages ago but clearly I was wrong. This is more entertaining than I thought it was going to be when I read the opening pages.

I am prepared for my heart to be ripped out of my chest and handed to me. Here we go.

This is a DNF for me... I gave it a quarter of the way through to give it a chance and can't fathom how its reading is this high. I wonder if GR will delete this update if I delete the book from my shelves because I'm not going to count it as Read.

I usually don't like books with a narrator that is unlikeable but the story is highly entertaining. I feel bad kinda. Like I'm one of those people going to Nascar to maybe watch a wreck? But I'm still listening to the audiobook with a metaphorical bowl of popcorn in my lap. I can't stop. I'm responding out loud, "STOP TALKING NOW! No, don't say that! How are you this clueless?!"

The payoff is better than I could have hoped for.

Definitely read the audiobook if you can.

Yup, still a McGinnis fan. What a blistering opening chapter!

When you just started the audiobook yesterday and you're both impressed you're almost halfway through but also worried because you don't want it to be over THAT fast. Ok so stop listening to it every spare moment. Savor.

Another book talking about rowing. Is the universe trying to tell me something?

This is a behemoth of an audiobook. Should tide me over for the travel season
