This is my gf's favorite series, so I'm under pressure to like it haha. (But even she acknowledged that the first two books are rough.)

So far, I am enjoying this - even though the characters aren't convincing and the writing makes me roll my eyes sometimes.

'Me too,' I told him. And yet it was not Buckkeep that came to my mind, but a meadow overlooking the sea, and a gitl in bright red skirts that beckoned me. A time, rather than a place. No road led there any more."

AHHHHHH, damn you Robin Hobb

It feels so good to be back. I'm absolutely sure Hobb won't give me emotional pain again.

"We are going on an adventure."

Octopus revolution!

I didn't expect this one to be as much of a page-turner as it is. Certainly feels like I'm flying through it compared to the "Poppy War" trilogy
