man i have so many thoughts on this and they will never fit in a 400words post so the best i can do is: fuck ruby, fuck jodie, fuck derek, fuck kevin, and most importantly FUCK THE LDS CHURCH omg. it's ALWAYS the goddamn mormons, al-ways. these people are so toxic and patriarchy and hatred is so ingrained in them this is the type of shit they pull on their kids. it was the same with jennette mccurdy.

oh how i loved chapter three T_T azusa is such a sweetheart and i'm so happy she found her voice and figured out that she is stronger than she thought and is the captain of her own life. sure she's not like mint that suffocates everything in the garden, and that's beautiful. it took her some time to sprout out of the ground where she was being held by mint but once she did how strong she grew that she stood up to it.

i heard of the story of the franke siblings in a youtube video a while ago and was horrified by what had happened to those kids so when i saw that one of them had written a book i knew i needed to read/listen to it. i like the way shari relates the story from even before and really paints a full picture of the family dynamics and especially her mother's troubles as well as the weight the LDS Church puts on women.

i've been anxious about so much stuff recently and getting back into this book has helped ease my worries. as if i too was visiting tenderness and its vibe was working its magic on me as well.

i am weirded out, i am puzzled, i threw up in my mouth a little. irina infuriates me.

i honestly don't know what to think so far. i feel like i've been given all the pieces of a puzzle that's just a big monochrome and will only start being able to piece them together much later on. also did not expect the tampon bit, my jaw fell to the floor.

i just hope with reva's promotion she will not end up regretting her year of rest and of being a dick to her friend.

this book is so puzzling honestly, the more it goes on the less i understand what's going on. it's like the protagonist is two people at once but doesn't realise it and the person she is when she is on medications is trying to free herself of the depressed and cynical one that she is when she isn't on medication. i'm also curious about the artist from the beginning is suddenly reappearing in the story.

as an art historian i gotta say her description of dudes studying in the field in college is scarily spot on and kinda depressing. especially the fucking rolled cigarettes. as for the rest of the story i hate her stupid ass on and off boyfriend and think she deserves better than that. she's a bad friend and extremely self destructive and i don't know what to think of her yet.

ch i. i don't know about other people but personally i can't help but like athena. although she is made to be this insufferable literary genius who doesn't even realise she is living a life 90% of her peers can only ever dream to, and has many annoying quirks that piss off everyone around her i still can help but like her. now i'm waiting to see how june's masterplan develops and how far she will go.

again this is soooooo cliché and you can see everything arrive from miles away but also i would be a liar if i pretended that i don't love this shit. this is a fun read.

although i find most of the story particularly cliché and easy to guess in advance it stays a fun read and i did have a few moments of "damn boy" regarding jesse so it works.
i also appreciate that viola is not entirely a mary sue and is able to stand up for herself to others without needing a man to help her do it, that is refreshing.

this is obviously a guilty pleasure read and not an intellectual one but it's fun and it doesn't hurt anyone. also Mila is a villain, and with friends like her you don't need enemies.
