So she’s annoyed with him and she says “so what if he saved my life a few dozen times this evening?” as a selling point as if that’s not a good reason. And all I can picture is some early Disney show laugh track playing as the angsty female main character crosses her arms. You get the image or am I crazy??

So she knows someone is going into the prison to assassinate Cal, she watches the guy go in, then spends two days working in the stable making a plan… why wasn’t he killed in that day? Why didn’t the assassin immediately do something? The logic isn’t logic-ing.

“If people were always kind and obedient to those who are cruel and unjust, the wicked people would have it all their own way; they would never feel afraid, and so they would never alter, but would grow worse and worse. When we are struck at without reason, we should strike back again very hard; I am sure we should. - so hard as to teach the person who struck us never to do it again.”

She is FAR too relatable.

“However carefully I obeyed, however strenuously I strove to please her, my efforts were still repulsed, and repaid by such sentences as the above.”

I get her. The OG Mirrorball in some sense…

damn. i just reviewed the last book and praised how it didn’t feel forced. this is the legit opposite. you’re telling me haymitch was friends with BOTH of katniss’ parents AND peeta’s. at this point, names are being thrown in to satisfy readers

the best character in this WHOLE book by FAR is sejanus and the absolutely worst part is that we can see how snow doesn’t actually like him but if we didn’t get his pov they’d seem like such great friends which is what sejanus also thanks

half way done and i absolutely positively hate snow and not for one i should (what happened to B) but the simple fact that he can’t accept how unbelievably psychotic and selfish he is. he genuinely GENUINELY believes he’s right morally
