I have less than 20% of the book left, and I am wondering how everything that needs to happen and be answered is going to occur… either this is going to be a jam packed 20% of the book, or there are going to be things left unsaid.

and right as i said it: just found out Vincent has been lying to them lol
he hasn’t told them about sinkholes that have been happening — which is related to the tunnels on the map. HES A LIAR. HES HIDING STUFF — NO TRUST.

i don’t know why, but i don’t trust Vincent…
he keeps focusing on appeasing the humans and making sure they feel safe, when there are bigger things to worry about and tbh they aren’t safe lol.
idk if he’s doing that because he’s wants to be a leader/ruler, and humans are his jurisdiction… or, if he’s trying to distract them all from what really matters: planning for battle and finding answers.

THIS. BOOK. IS. INSANE. i cannot believe i am only 36% through it — so much has happened, and although a lot is getting revealed it’s also only getting deeper. i have so many questions!! I literally have not been able to predict a single thing that has happened… i’m actually mind blown right now. im shaking in my boots i need to know what the fuck is going on right now

i’m obsessed with this book… i have no notes. no words.

ugh i dont think finish this book … the main characters are annoying me. In every chapter it’s so obvious what’s going to happen it’s frustrating the characters don’t see it. Draven complements Selena for being smart, but she literally can’t tell what’s happening right before her eyes. her lack of confidence and pity me bit is annoying me …i can’t imagine reading another three books of this

fuck this book is so fucking good i cannot put it down. and when i do put it down, all i look forward to is picking it back up again

okay chapter 12 is shaping out to be super important— lots of new information and things taking shape.
it’s all going to play out later for sure

Another thought I have… what if Carrion is behind the rot?? since the first book, it has bothered me that his name, Carrion, literally means “decaying flesh”… And now there’s a rot spreading that appears to be connected to Zilveran!?
Something has been off about him in this book — and all of the last book we didn’t know who he truly was until the end; he was hiding his true identity the entire time.

Okay so there’s a new rot spreading, and recently Edina (fishers mom) spoke to Saeris and told her to find a book to stop the rot, and she told Saeris not to tell “him” about it. Saeris thinks Edina meant not to tell Fisher, so she told Taladaius about it.
But what if Tal is the bad guy here?? Ren doesn’t trust Tal and there’s something we don’t know… What if Tal is behind the rot?

glad i’m doing a re-read of this. it’s SO good.
noting here that chapters 22 and 23 are so important (and also so good) … lots of things mentioned and said there that i feel are going to play into Brimstone

chapter 5 was beautifully written…

i knew that the prince of shadows was talemir, prince of hearts!! (duhhh)
i also have a feeling he’s Thea, Wren and Anyas father… in the moment thea met him, she describes his features as Delmirian — like her — and then says she met his green eyes with her own. Sounds like they have similar backgrounds and features. but then would anya have known he’s their father since she’s known him this whole time?
