Paul Polydoris, who, as the name suggests, is a many-gifted person who the author uses to explore and elucidate many unspoken queer experiences and stories almost seamlessly. However, I can’t help but feel everything will soon fall apart—stay tuned

This is exactly what I needed

For example “how can you tell a man who hates himself that his son was made in his own image”

🔪💀

I have yet to read a happy story set in Ireland. This gives me Banshees of Inisherin vibes—deeply sad but also boring and normal and benign and then Boom

Sadness

This book is such a roller coaster of a read for me. Moments of “I hate reading this, I will not read it” paired against “wow this is so deep and real, guess I’m going to finish it.”

Ok I know what you’re thinking “another one?” Well yes, I couldn’t bring a hard back library book to the beach! It would ruin it. And all my other current reads are digital copies and I didn’t want to look like “one of those people on their phones at the beach”

Home for the holiday. Dad wanted to ~read the Odyssey~ before the movie. Went to the local library. Found the Odyssey. SAW THE LIBRARIAN PUT A FRESH COPY OF THIS OUT AND I DID ALL BUT RUN TO SNAG IT. Totally chalant

CHOMPING at the bit to close out this story

Forgot how DARK this is

Are they gay? Or are they just curious about ancient ceramic queer images on tablets? Time will tell I suppose. (But like come on…boy with daddy issues and face tattoos AND boy with no backstory on a cross country road trip HAVE to be lovers right?)

Jesus

Such beautiful stories, but definitely need to consume this one bite at a time
