Goodreads probably thought the books that have been on my “currently reading” page for over a year were MADE for their “DNF” shelf. No, not me. (This book is really long though and the last 50 pages about military strategy have slowed my progress, I’m ready for all the 500+ characters to start dying one by one)

While I unfortunately will not be able to attend this month’s literati book club, I am still tearing through this wonderful story. A paired telling of personal narrative and cultural narrative, Im learning both a person’s and a people’s story.

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to finish all of my “currently reading” shelf before starting a new book. One MAJOR caveat to this promise is: I will continue reading my book club books (yes plural) on schedule. Please call me out if you see any deviance.
