Monaco took me out and idk how I’m going to survive the POV shift

I feel I am learning a lot about modern Egyptian culture through this writing. However, I don’t know if I feel entirely comfortable learning in this way. I’m used to learning culture from first hand accounts of patient friends. This story of passion throws it all out and lets me piece it together at a pace I cannot match. Am I meant to be a consumer of this story?

It was pointed out to me that this is the 5th book I’ve picked up today, and was also noted that all 5 occurred in the same hour. Let a man have a hobby in peace please

This will be a slow read for me as every poem makes me think too much and that is not something I always want to do

In the same way that Sally Rooney writes insufferable Irish/English characters that I cannot stop reading, Noor Naga writes hers. Cheers to experimental writing, will keep going

Ok literally like 20 pages later Nora realizes this. Sorry guys i keep predicting this book. It’s cute so just do seem to know what is coming next (totally called an Ash love story too)

Ok but does Nora ever stop and think about who she is displacing as she explores each of her different lives? Like it’s great that she gets to experience different timelines, but every time she does, a version of herself is banished abruptly from their life. Nora of timeline A is not the same as B, and idk how fair it is to the other people in timeline B to now only get to interact with Nora A. Especially in love.

Wow the masc older man who always held the boy who was obsessed with him at arms length is the bad guy? Crazy

Haunting

Beautiful prose, incredible overlapping of story, very cerebral. Cannot imagine what is in store with me, never wanted to just be done with a book more but unable to stop.
