Okay but why is it giving YA chosen one a bit

Girl I am SLOGGING through this book and the most annoying part is I can't figure out why I can't get into it. It has a lot of cool pieces that can be used later on, the MC doesn't fully suck or anything, but I can not read a full page without my attention drifting. If it was bad I could say 'it's just bad' but I just can't put my finger on why this book isn't clicking.

Ugh, I think there's going to be a romance subplot in this. Which I'm not exactly against, I've just been fortunate enough to read several books in a row in which that wasn't a thing.

This book is mostly good except when the author pops out of the page, cups my face and whispers, "The monster is capitalism." Like yeah I probably would have gotten there without the help.

Holy crapppppppp that first story was really something

Finally, a protagonist almost as pathetically anxious as I am.

Really encapsulates the feeling of 'needing to do something to help or I am responsible' and 'not having the faintest clue of how to help.'

Finally, an anxiety-ridden protagonist for the rest of us.

I can not stress enough how off putting a love confession with my dead uncle in the next room over would be

Well something finally happened, I know you were all on the edge of your seats waiting for me to find the plot.

I kind of wondered how long it would take her to figure out her friends have nothing of significance behind their eyes.

The finances of the main character are stressing me tf out.

I have never read this many ways to call a woman old and ugly. Didn't know this many ways existed without curse words.
