The fact that this is a dual timeline makes a worlds difference to how impactful this story is. I smell a 5 star…!

Never got this much ttt from a book let alone the first third

Why does it feel like I keep losing the plot

Lowkey forcing myself to finish this yawn fest so I can earn my next DNF. Why couldn’t it be more of a character study on her relationship with her parents, Trevor, and Reva, than all the sleeping pill talk?

Reading this is like listening to that one colleague who never stops talking

Making you as a little girl shower with your 16 year old brother is crazy

DNF. I tried so hard to get into this. 115 pages in. Tried the audiobook too. But nothing. Especially as a Persian, some lines here and there were worthy of my attention but holistically this felt like the biggest drag. Sounded like an episode from that reality show ‘The Valley’.

Still bored. Took me four days to read four pages

I can smell five very strong bright stars. Omg. My heart is pounding reading chapter 27. Trying not to cry in the middle of my work day and hilariously trying to find a quiet place for me to enjoy this in peace as it nears the end.

After chapter 11 it literally became unputdownable. Mr. Salmon is also now one of favorite fictional men :(((<3

Incredibly descriptive writing which I am enjoying but it is slowing the book down

Interesting prologue, so he’s anti Shah and thinks everything will be better now but alas
