Slowly but surely making my way through this behemoth of a book. I’m hoping to finish it when I leave DC in December. The book is interesting, but I am struggling to get invested. Kirchick is a journalist which is reflected in his writing style. The book is mostly anecdotes with meager historical analysis, so it feels like I’m taking in an overwhelming amount of information.

Finished part one but could easily DNF… not a fan of “it was all a dream” angle and lack of plot. Trying to go along for the ride but struggling with the fact that nothing matters nor makes any sense whatsoever

An update for my fans ~ I’m struggling with this book. Something about this one is not connecting for me, which is a shame because this is my fav it’s series ever. Will try not to DNF.

Great and tragic book — took a break since starting grad school but chose to write an essay using this book so hopefully I’ll finish soon
