I’m enjoying the political tension, but honestly, I keep thinking about whether Red Rising, the whole reading experience of all the books that are out, will actually rival my obsession with the The Shadowhunter Chronicles this year. I can’t cope with the idea that I’ve already reached my peak and that nothing will compare🥹

Unrelated but i can’t handle sci-fi authors using names like regulus , andromeda or Icarus lightly

Oh, the world-building is really interesting. I don’t think I got it the first time I read this.

Yes, I am re-reading this so I can read the other two books in the trilogy and actually fall in love with it as everyone’s mom and dog do

I was really skeptical at the end of the first book about whether I would become obsessed with the romance and the found-family aspect, but now I’m sold. All the scenes in the first book have been given new meaning.

I don’t care if i don’t get the little details from the mortal instrument series because I didn’t read them . I miss the world and writing and as long as I get the infernal devices tidbits and can enjoy the plot in this series , I’m okay 🙂‍↔️🤞
And after this trilogy I can begin chain of hour

My first Cassandra Clare book!! I’ve only watched the Shadowhunters series during COVID , never read the books. I don’t really plan on diving into her whole universe, I’m just excited for this trilogy and her separate books like Sword Catcher.

Ngl I was really skeptical for majority of the book but the plot twist was mind-blowing and paints the story in a completely different light . Many things i didn’t understand make sense now. I am connected to the characters . I am so excited to continue but due to school and my examinations I have to pause til Saturday , and then I’m going to finish it 🤭

The author intentionally makes this book more difficult to follow by referring to characters in multiple ways within the same chapter, which keeps forcing me to remind myself that no new person has actually been introduced (whether by first name, surname, or title)
I’m also not even sure if I’m enjoying it. At this point, I don’t think I’ll read the sequel.
