Listen. Most of this shit means nothing to me because I'm a communist...but idk I wanted to get more into philosophy.

They also did a NO HOMO so hard too. All the other Greek philosophers were boinking youths but not Socrates! He was a pure goblin-man who never slept with any man ever!!!!;!!

I can never tell if Gore Vidal is being anticommunist or if he's just stupid in that area due to is upper-class upbringing.

The author is like "yeah yeah yeah wrap it up". The main detective keeps getting hit with a smart stick and everyone else is hit with the dumb stick with no explanation.

This book is a fun introduction to Brecht's work while explaining the history happening around him. It is very sympathetic to communism, which is refreshing. It is also harsh on the USSR and Stalin with no evidence or justification, which is stale, uncritical, and annoying.

I don't know whether I think this book is pretentious, endearing or dumbing itself down for the audience.

I feel bad for her boyfriend, but find their relationship incredibly relatable.

I kind of like the random insert of personal essays but is it still the narrator speaking? It feels disjointed in that way.

I don't like the chapter titles like "the math isn't mathing". It's just cheapening it.

I don't know why I didn't expect that Rosicrucianism and Theosophy would be talked about so heavily, but it tracks and it's my favorite subject. 😅

The author really wanted you to know that she knew about the linguistic difference in ancient Greece. BUT. WHO. CARES.

Some girl is jealous and they are gay BUT WHO CARES. Making the representation should be good at least. It's so boring it sounds straight as fuck.
