Just wanted to complain but don't even know what to write anymore.

I think I just watched too many videos about tradwifes and influencers a few months ago and my brain cannot take in any more information about this topic.
So far nothing unexpected nothing uncovered.
I hope that the plot twist I've heard so much about will deliver me.

I don't think I would be continuing under normal conditions but lately I've having a serious case of FOMO. This is one of the books that while reading I keep my fingers crossed that the author will make it worth it. I'm just not interested in the whole "influencers are fake" discourse because of course they are. But this portrayal seems malicious as if a tradwife has personally hurt the author.

After reading Foster I did not expect to read another Claire Keegan book. But I had to believe in Irish Literature. Aaaand I really liked the film adaptation.

A story of literary devices. I think this is the first time I read a Norwegian story and apart from crime novels that's what I imagined Norwegian general fiction to be. Why? Who knows.

Just saw this was released in 1996. I know that this has been going since at least 1948, but still difficult to understand how in the 30 years since this book was released life in Palestine just got that much worse.

Interesting to see the author's thought process and self awareness. He constantly shows how he is both traumatized and happy to hear people's suffering, bombs going off. How else are going to tell this story?

The Illumination of Santiago • Nona Fernández, translated from Spanish by Idra Novey

It's difficult to imagine how daily (or rather nightly) life looked like before we could blast electric lights whenever we wanted. How miraculous and disorientating in must have been to have the night disappear.

The freak out (more like a pedophilia accusation) every time a supposedly male teacher interacts with a female student and the assumption if the teacher was perceived as female all would be appropriate - both seem wrong. Everyone overreacts seeing their closeness but no one calls the police. Or the guardians.

I'm actually very hooked

Also, i cannot believe that an anonymous social media app not making people's life miserable. Whatever anti-harrassment algorithm that Jack has needs to be sent to all the social media apps asap.

Another attempt at making a dent in my TBR by choosing a random book. I have no idea how I heard about it but seems like a romantasy I might like. Granted both MCs are already wistfully thinking about one another and I'm already annoyed.
The begging of the book showed promise to reverse the grumpy-sunshine dynamics but once again we have a traumatized man and a woman pretending everything is okay.

So we have an "annoyingly beautiful man" on our hands. Does not bode well for the book

I missed the flailing millennial girlie coded litfics.
Jane is weirdly observant on people's ability to drive and will work for anyone and believe anything just so she could have some income to repay her medical debt.

This man cannot say one sentence to a woman without commenting that he "welcomes the affection"

I'm giving one last chance to mystery novels

I have not known a single calm moment since I started reading this book
