Listening to the audiobook. CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet are fantastic. The book starts right at the jump with ALL the sexual activities you can think of; first 6 chapters really. What happened to the build up? The push and pull?

I’m listening to the audio! Narrators are pretty good… the story on the other hand! It has so much potential but it’s trying too hard to be dark. Plus, way too much descriptive text… I don’t need to know what Kane’s 2 best friends smell like - wait for their books! Some chapters feel as if they are just describing a scene the entire time. Fingers crossed it picks up!

About 1/3 done. Had to switch to reading vs listening due to the female narrator. She’s not bad but just not for me.

How old are these characters meant to be? They are meant to be in their early 20s (it was said he is 24 a few times) - it's so hard to picture much of this dialogue being used by early 20-somethings. How many 20 somethings use the term "lover" over and over again?

Enjoying the story - the tension between Sterling & Courtney is great! Listening to the audiobook, which probably adds so much for me because I love Connor Crais as any gruff MMC. Erin Mallon also does a phenomenal job.

The biggest struggle I'm having with this book is the structure. Having such short chapters breaks up the flow of the story and is quite frustrating.

Frustrations with the editing and order of the chapters. One chapter started "4 hours earlier", letting the reader/listener to believe the events would have happened earlier than the previous chapter. Not the case, it was 4 hours before the following chapter - wouldn't it have made more sense to have that chapter start with "4 hours later."

Book is definitely too long and much of the inner dialogue could be cut.
