I went into the book with the assumption that it would be a Beauty and the Beast retelling. To me, it missed the mark; the ‘beast’ was not beastly to me (physically or emotionally), and the scenes that were reminiscent of the fairytale seemed forced. There were nice moments in this book, however there was too much telling. This book needs some editing to cut down the repetitive content and proofreading.
