You know in a movie when you jump back and forth between characters, waiting for their paths to cross?

Yeah. That. But each family/POV lasts like two hours and the switches are so jarring you end up Googling if you missed a segue or something.

I sit patiently.

Filling up my water bottle, making a snack, tucking myself in. This is going to take a while.
