Also on the women thing, the question was asked in an interview and he answer was convincing enough.
And he said that Golgoth was the hardest to write so maybe I was wrong. But all of the characters are parts of him anyways (said so himself, can only look for characters inside of him, they inhabit him)
Anyways, I might take a break from this book

...so I get that after so much work he thinks highly of his books. But it feels more like a exercice of style. Not of telling a story. It feels like he writes for the words, and how they go with one another, how to play with them to make the most of their sounds and meanings and impacts. So it is interesting to read, it is kind of genius. But it lacks emotions, humanity, somehow...it just doesn't touch your soul.

Halfway through, i'm gets tired of these big chunky paragraphs or monologues i just want the plot to unfold !!!!
Listened to a 3h podcast w Damasio yesterday, i feel really mitigated about this guy.
At one point he said that his purpose, what interests him, is to make literature evolves, no matter how tiring (?) is style can be. I get his approach on writing, how it takes him years (6 for this one) isolated in nature

can't stop myself from reading even though i should be reading 100 pages a week if i want it to last for the whole trip. but it's ok. maybe i'll find a book in english

c'est honnêtement du génie de manier la langue ainsi; en revanche je déplore la manière dont les personnages féminins ne sont qu'égéries de douceur, désir, force calme... ça ne m'étonne pas de damasio qui est brillant mais que je vois comme une sorte de bête brusque incarnant une masculinité un peu animale (comme Golgoth), ce qui colle très bien avec sa conception/construction des rapports hommes/femmes

50 pages in, i am reading about a group of people fighting wind. don't really get it, and the language is particular, has you surprise by where the sentence is going, words refers to things i don't know; but little by little, i find this strange, unknown world growing onto me

starting the only (big) book i took to read on this trip

reading essays is frustrating because i like to read very quickly and i obviously cannot do it with them if i want to understand something so idk if i'll be able to finish this before friday😣
frustrating but interesting !!! and stimulating, a lot of thoughts were thunk (wrote 6 pages in my journal😬)

j'ai repris ojrd ma lecture; a un moment donné (j'ai oublié quand) elle a provoqué chez moi un sentiment particulier (j'ai oublié lequel) et je me me suis dit un truc avec conviction (j'ai oublié quoi), mais c'était qlqc lié à l'aventure et vivre un peu de manière trépidante et exaltante tt ça, et la pensée était liée à l'ego s'oublier etc; bref je ne sais plus rien

started reading this last summer and was on page 65 but id rather start again

bought this at La Bizz'Art's second hand library, didn't look at the price (24€😵‍💫😵‍💫), i had just retrieved 20€ for the festival (planning to spend 10€ max), here i went giving them my 20€.... had to go back to the atm machine...
