Loving the magician, I didn't know what to expect as far as how fantastical this book would be. I'm glad it's sticking to the more realistic side of alchemy. Worth the wait for an adult Sachar book!

Kylia is 78% done with Annihilation (Southern Reach, #1)

One of my favorite book troupes is having no idea what's going on (Piranesi, House of Leaves, I Who Have Never Known Men).

This hooked me at the start of this book and I can't wait to see where it leads.

About 80% finished and I just learned this is a trilogy. I think I'll be excited to read the rest of the series... TDB on where we end up!

Gripping read. Nodding my head at all of her descriptions of life with a Machiavellian parent. What an incredibly strong family surviving nightmare after nightmare.
