Not that far in yet but this is the most entertaining zombie book I've run across in a while. A very long while. Back to it, it is only getting better the more I read.

Quite good. Moves very quickly while still building a deep world with a well developed history.

I was right. Mark does an admirable job of making the story intetesting and it flows along nicely, it feels more natural or less "forced" as the story progresses and the characters flesh out a bit. The scene in Ancrath was interesting if somewhat unnecessary.

I loved Lawrence's first trilogy. Admittedly I'm only 8 chapters in but I'm not being enchanted quite like I was with 'The Broken Empire' but I do have some faith that Mark will wrangle this story into shape in the coming chapters. Hard to follow up such a strong protagonist as Jorg.

Better than Way of Kings. Some moments are a bit too... not so much cliche as corny, but they do serve to contrast the areas where Brandon almost goes dark.

Some difficult parts in that section. A new character I find annoying and some excellent Parshendi Q&A sessions disguised as dialogue.

End of part 1. Nice to see Sanderson do some unexpected things with Jasnah. Ready for some Adolin, no idea if I'll get him, but Shallan seems central this volume so I expect him. And duels.

There have been several spots where the text has really broken the flow for me. Some spots where it is hard to tell who is talking, some downright clunky grammar at times, still... ICE's writing seems to have gotten better since his debut and the story is interesting and has great momentum, except for the aforementioned clunky spots that some better editing or formatting could have fixed.

If this book didn't have BRANDON SANDERSON across the top of the cover, I'd be sorely tempted to put it aside. The premise feels flimsy and forced. The prose uninspired, at best. I'm willing to give Sanderson a longer shot than others though. It remains to be seen if this book falls to the 'meh' mediocrity of Alloy of Law or rises to the brilliance of The Emperor's Soul. Recent Sanderson has been of varying quality.

After soldiering my way through the entire Malazan Book of the Fallen series I finally made my way back to this awesome series and the finale I've had in the que since it was released. What a tremendous breath of fresh air. Exactly what I needed after the Malazan gauntlet. Jorg is still awesome and I'm devouring this book. On track for an easy 5 stars so far.

Been looking forward to getting my grubby mitts on this series for a while now. Going to be a fierce competition between this and Erikson's Malazan series for my reading time.

I will continue to wake via e-reader to the face as this wonderful series continues its fierce hold on my attention. I advise just going to sleep after the second time the e-reader cracks your skull or you won't remember anything.

I may never finish this book. The plot is so much a mirror of what happens in 'The Belgariad' that I've become bored with it.

Only the third time I've started this book. It hooked me this time. Has a sort of "Glen Cook's 'Black Company' on roids" vibe going for it which I like.

Just absolutely freaking awesome so far! Fantastic content, and I'm just getting to "Howling through the Keyhole" which promises to be full of insight. Wonderful stories, excellent interviews, and a backstage pass to the stories behind the stories? Pure awesomeness imho.
