Great. I love the quotes “He is half of my soul” and “Name one hero who was happy”

So far, so good. Although, reading a singular page feels like it takes an eternity. I really like the sentence “The revenue arising from his school was small, and would have been scarcely sufficient to furnish him with daily bread, for he was a huge feeder, and, though lank, had the dilating powers of an anaconda.”

Page 177 really resonated with me.

I feel pitiful for the main character. As I read this book, I indulge myself into the world of the BSD character Osamu Dazai, and come to realizations about his character and why he is the way he is. The word I would describe this book as is melancholic. It’s beautiful, yet depressing. It can either bring more awareness to a person or send them spiraling into a depression.
