Great so far, really conveys the hypocrisy of civilized society. Dmitri sees through the superficial facade of the world around him after being faced with the pangs of his conscience, namely his betrayal of Katya. The couple of chapters depicting his downfall into a “man of society” are nightmarish, as well as the devolution of his relationship with Katya from one of innocence and love to lust.
