This reminds me a lot of a book I just read called The Crossover. It's definitely put together better but this story is truly baffling. I can't begin to imagine why children would like this story.

This book is due soon so I honestly might give up when that happens. Its such a slog and its really repetitive. I do get it - the Stalinist camps were torturous. But idk how much more I can read about it.
