Finally some actually useful advice. I dont agree woth everything thats said in chapters 3 & 4 but theyre much more pragmatic & thoughtful than what was before it.

On one hand, yay for the authors asking librarians to question everything. On the other hand, they're using the excuse that the environmental / social concerns of AI were already present before, so it's not that big of a deal to use it. Doesn't mean we should accept the fact that exacerbates the problems we have. Our generation will have to live with these idiots' consequences.

Imagine Priory of the Orange Tree but none of the characterization or world building

I am immensely skeptical of this book right from the jump. It assumes that libraries can take complete control over how GenAI is used, which is simply not the case. We are not the creators. We are not the funders. And we certainly don't have this polished & pristine legacy for knowledge holding that the "authors" suggest. It's also just hard to read through because it is repetitive and full of buzzwords. We'll see...

I've read this book multiple times but every time Cinna shows up I tear up. What's up with that.
