A great, short read that starts filling in gaps and answers questions about a main character I've been wondering about for months now.

Ethos: So far he is very credible, as this book is about William Kamkwamba, and is written by William Kamkwamba.
Pathos: He has tugged at my heart strings, especially when he speaks about his early life and his families struggles, especially during the famine.
Logos: William uses the logic and reasoning based upon science to convince me, who knows very little, that he knows what he’s talking about.

He has begun to store the extra power the windmill generates, even after an fire almost broke out in his room, and is beginning to try and make a pump for their well so they can easily bring water out to their fields.

Another famine just started BUT the bad president has been replaced, so hopefully things go better now.

Just got to the part where he finally managed to get his windmill up and running, alongside all the changes he had to make after.

The famine just ended and he got crops in, feeding his family. He also began to do independent research, as his family still couldn't afford schooling, and discovered books on how to generate power from a windmill and other books.

Just got to where he just got kicked out of school because his family couldn't afford schooling thanks to the famine.

Just learned about a famine that struck the land and its repercussions on his family, alongside how the government responded with it.

He got a dog after one of his uncles got laid off from a welding company and came to live with them. His uncle John also died, unfortunately.

It is a good book so far-- The storytelling is interesting and I like the details going over his childhood and his families backstory, especially his father.

I chose this book because it speaks about a boy's journey to harness the wind to help his village, I am doing my project on Alternative energy, and I can use the book as an example of why it's better (and cheaper) to use other sources of energy than fossil fuels.

Read about the "Freedom Schools" going up and the successes (and consequences/failures) of the schools across Mississippi.

The author's writing style is informative and also mysterious, trying to inform but make a riveting story out of history instead of the facts right off, and also keep the mystery of the three men's murder a secret until he gets to the secret of if they are dead or alive.

I just got my hands on it, cannot wait to read it and see how much the movie got wrong or changed! Also my first Steven King book, but I liked the movie so I might like the book.

I didn't do much reading today, but the mystery of the Murder of the three men continues to enthrall me and make me want to know more.

This book was created to show the author's praise for the many people who went and volunteered for the Freedom Summer project, and that is what I believe the Authors purpose is.

Amazing book so far, it really is a great read, its got me hooked on what will happen to these poor college kids for the summer!

Just got to the section where they talk about the murder and attempt to deny the murder of three men from the summer project.

No main character, but the book is great; the volunteers have just arrived in Mississippi and are meeting the host families. I ended on the book explaining on how Freedom Summer came to be: though the murder of Louis Allen, it allowed for the SNCC people to agree to begin Freedom Summer.

Learned about Mississippi after the cival war and what happened during that time up until the books present time

The book is great. It feels like I’m reading a history of war book, with how the SNCC camp was feeling like. The horror stories from the volunteers, the naive other volunteers, and finally the traveling to Mississippi.
