god this would be so enjoyable if jane austen wasn't so allergic to making it clear who the speaker is. in some dialogue you can deduce it sure (tho if i have to keep going back and figuring it out that is just very immersion breaking so still. not a fan) but there are scenes with like a total of at least 5 characters talking and it just gets really confusing for no reason

the first chapter was so utterly beautiful and haunting and well written and worked so well as a self contained story that what follows isn't grabbing me and is a bit of a disappointment so far but i hope i will like it better soon. still i am worried that the author might just be better at short stories cause the pacing has been really weird after kaeda's story concluded
