So far, I’m really enjoying the story. There is a bit of confusion but I think that’s from listening to the audio instead of reading.

Well.. that was a twist? Don’t know, maybe revelation is the right word, even though we don’t technically know what’s happening

Wow… I was hoping he wasn’t a bad guy, but he is. Whatever, now he’s not a barrier to Elaine and Alex.
The description of her panic attack, recovery, ptsd, trauma, all right on the nose for me anyway. Obvs everyone is different.
I also appreciated that the author did not have anything start between Elaine and Alex at this point.
I fucking love this book.

Seriously, I am loving everything about this book. It needs to be in print so I can own a real copy.

I am so impressed with this author. A fleshed out story with hidden eggs everywhere (or I guess what I’m assuming are hidden eggs), the world building is seriously top notch. Watching Elaine grow and accept that love is possible, feeling it, having friends, have teachers who aren’t trying to bed her (looking at you Hu). The mystery of her healing. Just on the edge of my seat!

Truly loving the world building. The story is prompting many questions which is keeping me so interested. Who is Elaine? Why did the medicine work on her? Why does it seem she’s chosen by the gods? What’s the connection between Elaine and Lizzie?
Elaine definitely has a thing for authority figures, Hu, and she misconstrued his feelings for her. And it seems like she also is drawn to Courtenay and vice versa.

Seriously, this book has me intrigued. There’s no indication as to what type of fantasy this will be and while that may bother some, the world building is super interesting. Elaine is the focus right now and there is definitely something different about her, but what?

This opening has me in a chokehold. She reminiscent of a few other FMCs I’ve read lately, but still different enough and interesting. The world building is tied into the story well without taking you out of scenes. I’m excited for where this one will go!

Wow… jarring separation there.

Some of this has been dragging a little for me. I’m listening to the audiobook and find myself zoning out during times that should have my captive.

Current thoughts: did the blood sharing of Cedric to Elyria save him when Belien used blood magic to try to kill him?

From earlier in the book: so Cedric thinks the Revenant/Elyria killed his parents yet still has this attraction to her/disbelief that she could be responsible. Did I miss something in his trial seeing his parents killed? Maybe listen to again.

“I just see you”- called the line lol

It’s picked up a bit and I am enjoying it more. Elyria is ok, I feel like, yeah I have some backstory, but I don’t feel like she’s let anyone truly see her and I look forward to that. Cedric is an interesting character. Obviously, drawn to Elyria as she seems to be to him as well, but he definitely seems more open to see what’s there. I think he’s in for some rude awakenings about those closest to him.

So… Killian must know, Stark knows, Anassa knows. Pretty sure her and her mom are from the long line of queens. The necklace means something. Killian knows and was sent to seduce and marry her and keep her from knowing her true self and taking her rightful throne? How are the Siphons and children involved? I’m so intrigued with this one!

Another romantasy that has me in a strangle hold.

Approx. 50% in, bout to get spicy, so I just want to pop this note in, that I really adore this two and have high hopes for the rest of the book!

Listening to audio and narrator pronounced chasm like cheese 😩

This is actually my second listen to this but never rated, so listening to again to give proper review. Falon Ballard is an always read for me.

Notes so far: the Grayson “Fucking” West is a little over done at this point unfortunately.

Opening had me intrigued. This might be my first book with a fae FMC that is badass, 100s of years old and not the fragile young innocent human. The world building is good, the magic is (seemingly) elemental (so far air/wind, water, and earth).
