I hope this gets better. I’m getting a distinctly Jonathan Livingston Seagull meets K-Pax vibe wrapped up in bow for Chocolat fans. The gentleman pontificating about the lemon reminds me of Larry Ray lecturing his cult about the proper way to dunk Ding Dongs in milk.

Might not finish, but it’s bad movie compelling.

Why?! Why did I get tricked into another book by this guy?

I don’t know if I’ll finish. This is the most vapid thing I’ve read in years.

This is one of those compulsively readable books that you pick up right when you’ve got a million other things to do. Aaaaaaaahhhh

Twenty pages in and I am calling it. This memoir (so far) is brilliant. BRILLIANT! Like listening to Exile in Guyville (or Whip-Smart--yeah, that was the one that hooked me) for the first time, but filtered all the more painfully through that lens of middle-aged hindsight.
