One shocking part was when the drill instructors trained them to persevere through difficult tasks, like yelling at them in their faces. “Wherever I went, big men with angry faces yelled at me... One character trait for Luke is bravery. He snuck out to see Jen and risked his life to see her. Luke's dad does not want him going out, so he should not be leaving. Jen said " you dared to come over here, didn't you? If I'm so much braver how come I'm not risking my life to see you?" (112) This shows Luke risked his life and is brave because even though his dad could find out he still did it.

In Haddix by Margaret Peterson, one trait to describe Luke is protective. Luke is protective of his surroundings and his family. He is always aware of what his family and friends are up to. Luke says "They're scared you're going to grow something illegal" (p. 100). This quote shows he is protecting his dad from getting in trouble for growing something illegal in his backyard.

On page 80, we learn that Luke is a bit spoiled by his family. He is full of himself and thinks he is perfect. He says " My family can get all the food we want, of course, but." This is a quote that he says to his friend and is bragging to him that he can get all the things he wants. This proves that he is a very greedy and spoiled kid.

On page 2, we learn a new character Luke. A new characteristic we learn about him is that he is very stubborn. He asked his dad " DAD, why did you have to sell the woods." This shows his stubborness and how he is very upset that he doesn't have the patch of woods to play in. He will never forgive his dad for this because they were his favorite to hike through and mess around with his friends.

On page 168, we learn that Tyrone is a bit disrespectful. He was talking to a teacher that came in and was talking about her job which was a suicidal prevention counselor. Tyrone says " If you work at a suicidal prevention team, you didn't do a very good job, did you?" This proves that he is disrespectful and not nice to people sometimes."

On page 39, we learn that Andy thinks about others and not just himself. Andy is a great friend and loves others. He says "Rob's mom is holding back tears, and my folks didn't even bother to show up. I should be the one dead." This shows that Andy is caring for his friends and loves them. He thinks that Rob shouldn't have been out in that position and he does not deserve that. He thinks that Rob was a great friend.

On page 17, we learn that B.J. Carson is a responsible and a caring child. One of his friends died in a car crash which is awful. B.J. Carson said "I was always one of the boys and the four of us did everything together, ever since seventh grade. And I've just been glad that I had such good friends. Now one of them is gone and I feel responsible. This shows that B.J. Carson was a very caring and responsible child.

On page 387, At the end of the book, we learn Katniss Everdeen is caring and helpful . " Just as she's about to draw an arrow to shoot him she hears Cato cry out with the mutts on his heels. She helps him climb to the top of the Cornocopia . This shows that Katniss is caring and insanely caring about her friends. Cato has a prospetic leg, so the help that Katniss gave was very important.

In the end of the book, we learn Katniss Everdeen is caring and helpful . Kantiss is thankful she is not alone and has Peeta. This shows that Katniss is very caring towards Peeta and wishes to never leave his side. Peeta and Katniss work together to fight off the pack of wolves.

In Chapter 20, we learn that Katniss is very caring and helps others. Peeta was ill and needed help. Katniss caught right on to his sickness and instantly helped him to make him feel better.Katniss helps Peeta by making soup and feeding Peeta and giving him all of the things he needs. Katniss says "You have to eat. Keep your strength up. I’m going to
make you soup." This means that Katniss is very caring and loving.

On page 236, Katniss Everdeen tries to figure out ways to destroy and defeat the Careers. She tries to destroy the Careers food supply. Katniss wants to get back at them for killing Rue. Katniss says" Rue's death has forced me to confront my own fury against the cruelty. I feel my impotence. There's no way to take, Is there?" This also means that Katniss is brave for doing this by herself.

We discovered Katniss's distrusting attitude towards others in her life as she can't understand why Peeta would help her in the arena, even though they have a great friendship and history together. Katniss thinks " not only is Peeta with the Careers hes helping them find me". That shows that Katniss distrusts Peeta because hes helping opponents.
