One interesting part was when the Navajos were the only ones to survive crossing the desert with one canteen of water. “By the time the water truck got out to them they were all about dead” (100). This is interesting because Navajos are always treated poorly and underestimated, saying they’re useless.

One interesting part was when Ned tried to avoiding taking the pills. “One day Officer Williams discovered the pile of pills behind the radio tent where we’d been tossing them (122). This is interesting because they needed to take these pills for their safety. After that, Officer Williams would make sure each Navajo would take it by shoving it in their mouths.

One shocking part was when the drill instructors trained them to persevere through difficult tasks, like yelling at them in their faces. “Wherever I went, big men with angry faces yelled at me... The drill instructor yelled at me, leaning down so that his nose was almost touching mine” (60). This is shocking because they were expected to keep their heads up while being yelled at.

One interesting part in Code Talker is when the Navajo get ordered by the Americans. The Americans disrespected the Navajo. The Americans agreed to leave them alone, but they appeared again. The Navajo said,"our people tried to be friends with them. But they did not listen to us,they listened to the Mexicans, because they like them better."This proves that the Americans did not like the Navajo and liked the Mexicans more.
