So far, after Echoes of Eternity, I am disappointed. There is too much meandering in these first 50 pages!

So far, this one is one of my favourites in the entire Siege.

I care little for void war and I have to admit an entire novel of it is a rough starting point for the Siege of Terra, but at least the character moments are saving me

So far it’s weirdly cosy seeing so many familiar faces all together again, like a funeral.

Where is Mortarion, where is my king?

They didn’t tell me Russ was chill like that!

This one’s slightly better than Angels of Caliban but it’s still so dry. How is it so dry? It’s three demigods sailing through an arcane storm! That shouldn’t be dry!

This one’s… so dry. I need a break.

I’m not a fan of the first person style in this one but I’ll see it through 🫡

Ironically, this book is better and more enjoyable to read if you don’t read the footnotes. Reading the footnotes is what I imagine Fiona Apple felt like when she was stuck with a cocaine-high Tarantino in that theatre.
