Once again I love the parallels with Klein. Klein becoming a detective and helping police. Lumian became part of a mob?? 😭😭 I also love that the two tarot club members that Lumian met are kinda mysterious and whimsical in a way. It’s interesting to see them from an outsider’s perspective since we could read all of their thoughts in book 1. Even though we can’t now, you can tell they’ve matured so much

Lumian is similar to Klein but at the same he isn’t. I always see them as two sides of the same coin. I somewhat expected the time loop to be the reason why this volume is called Nightmare. I expected the people who died in the loop to be dead in reality as well but not that the whole village was wiped 😭 But I do like the parallel with Klein. Lumian being the only survivor while Klein saved everyone but died.

There’s so much to say. The war with the gods during the ascension ritual (Amon being a menace). Then the fight with Amon in Sefirah castle. They were playing 8D chess and I couldn’t follow 😭. But the most impactful part was the last tarot club gathering. I was literally on the brink of crying for what Klein went through and what he will go through. Also excited to see what they will do in book 2

This volume went by so fast not only because of the shorter chapter count, but also the fact I couldn’t stop reading. Klein finally meeting and talking to Roselle felt so emotional. Because Roselle was always this insanely great personality that didn’t feel real. And just that heartfelt conversation they had was humanizing and touching. And the way Klein got captured by Adam after had me sweating again 💀

The most insane beginning of a volume. Like my heart was racing cuz that shit w Amon was crazy. Like I’m genuinely scared of him. The war which turned out to be way more serious than I initially thought (i thought it’d be over when the king died ngl) and Audrey’s radicalization… crazy. And then at the end I had a lil hope for the Chief since Lovia died but :( and also lil Sun’s growth :(

I literally blew through this volume. I actually feel like we got a taste of what demigods are really capable of. I was really invested in the whole king’s secret thing and the fight at the end (and the ending was crazy, i might also have gotten ptsd from monocles). A real good character moment from Klein when he was radicalized and would rather die trying than watch people suffer because of greed

A banger volume, like idk what it is about the Backlund volumes they just hit. The Foggy town which was crazy and then Mr. Azik sighs and finally the ending. I didn’t think anything was ever gonna top the Lanevus fight. Well I was wrong 🤡 especially the ending with Daly 🫩 also ngl the Spectator pathway scary as hell also why is the seer ritual so hard like??

Chapter 851 is insane. Like Leonard’s braincells be working overtime (didn’t know he had it in him). But the exact moment he thinks Klein might be alive, all his growth because of his death got uno reversed and he gets another case of chuunibyou (insert gintama anime filler meme). Leonard it’s not a competition chill. Like Klein was looking out for you and now you’re trynna dig up his grave bro 😭😭

Wow there are actual consequences to unexpected turns in the mcs plans?? Crazy… actually realizing he has trauma and needs treatment?? (Kim dokja take notes) the reality check after his cheat wasn’t available must have hit hard. And then the shock because of the card like at that moment we had the exact same thoughts. And just mcs realizing that they are scared really humanizes them 10/10

Somehow it felt like a different book. A lot happened but because of the slower pace (and setting) it didn’t feel like it (compared to the last volume). I also felt that the stakes weren’t as high because Klein got so much stronger. Before he used to get dragged into trouble and struggled to get out. But now I feel like he is actively seeking trouble for the most part 😭😭

Just wow, I was gonna make a joke how Mr. A was butt hurt that the third time wasn’t the charm and Klein being fed up with having to deal with the descend of evil gods again, but man that ending with the author’s note was kinda heartbreaking and deep. Like despite how absorbed I was in the plot, I did notice how much time we spend on the less unfortunate. +

Audrey is basically us 😭😭 which is kind of genius cuz she is supposed to be a spectator…
Like I too look forward to every tarot gathering and I too look forward to Mr. Hanged Man’s reactions 😌 Also little Sun’s mistake in the middle of nowhere is resulting in a Cult that’s worshipping Klein that he didn’t want… like what’s going onnn? He is literally suffering from success 🤡

Well I technically finished the book on the plane back from Korea but forgor to update. This is a fun setup and ig it works for a long series like this. And I’m definitely open to read the rest but maybe I should finish some of the other books i’m reading first…
