I'm basically hating this book. But somehow I've gotten this far, so I may as well finish it. Ugh, that sounds like the main character. All negativity, so depressing, and often outright gross.

I'm not really liking it. I feel like it's supposed to be funny, and she's supposed to be endearing with her "I'm the worst" and her preciousness about everything, making everything about her. It's making me question how empathetic I am on one hand, but on another,I continue to be annoyed. Recently,her confiding a big secret in her daughter, having never told her very kind and patient husband, is irritating me anew.

About halfway and I have to say, so far it seems the movie really improved this story. It reads quite a lot like it was written by a straight white man in the 70s, both in issues of gender and race (which has no real part in the story but is oddly and clunkily put in here and there).

I'm not sure about this book. It's good enough to keep me in it and continue a very long story, but i don't think it's that well written really. And there have been a couple of oddly violent moments too that don't seem to match the rest of the story. We'll see how it shakes out.

This is a hefty read, but so exactly what I enjoy.

I started reading this book about 25 years ago and had to return it. I've had this mystery in the back of my mind ever since! I'm glad I'm finally going to get to know its resolution.

I am enjoying every word and every moment spent in Barack Obama's thoughts. However, as one would expect, it is extremely dense. Hence the slow progress. But I'll certainly be sticking with it and finishing it.

This story is way darker than I anticipated, which has made it harder for me to get into. But it's interesting enough to keep going.

As predicted, it is delightful. It's nice to read one here and there, so I'm not confident I'll fully finish it, but I'm enjoying it for now.

I need to form a Malcolm Gladwell book club. This is my second, and it's just so incredibly interesting and parallel-drawing and I can't get enough of it.

I'm really loving this book so far. I listened to Lori Gottlieb's interview on the podcast Armchair Expert, and her book lives up to how great that interview was. I'm really enjoying both elements of the book - her own story and her stories about her patients.

This book is amazing so far, but I do feel the need to do a bit of a mental health check in every few chapters/whenever I break from it. I'm anticipating it being too hard to get thru, but for now i'm sticking with it. I was a freshman in high school when this happened 20 years ago. It was hard then and is almost made harder by the acts that followed.

I'm not far in, but I am loving this book so much. What an incredible case to be made for putting aside our screens and getting back to the basic joy of reading. I wish all modern parents would read even just the amount I've read so far.
