okay maybe i’m just easily influenced by other people’s reviews and opinions but i started looking into what others have said about the book and i do kinda see the angle surrounding this being another case of “complaints of the ultra wealthy trying to act like they’re not millionaires”. on the other hand, i feel like the author does acknowledge her immense privilege quite a few times?

holy shit. maisie peters was right when she said the beginning of this book is actual nightmare fuel???? “that was a great visit!” hello???? i can already tell i’m gonna love this though. excited to read more

i didn’t realize that the book was written as an adaptation of the prequel show and not the other way around so it’s basically the same dialogue and moments line for line BUT we do get additional inner monologue so i’m chilling

reading this for one of my ECE classes and it’s so great so far! beautiful, emotional writing

i have to return this book to the library and i have no more renewals :( but i will come back to it at some point bc it’s very good! just a bit slow and i don’t have time rn

i read the reviews before starting this (sue me) and i’m afraid that like everyone else i simply don’t care about anna’s pov whatsoever, but the rest is great so far

not sure how to feel… i like the fast paced narration and i’m intrigued but i keep having trouble justifying annie’s decisions

hooked
