I just started this book and it’s good, it’s really good… the exact kind of treatment of Indian mythology that I have been looking for! However - and if you’re reading this, author, please take it as constructive criticism - the treatment of gender in the narrative is really strange and problematic. I’m enjoying the series a lot, but the gender hypocrisy really casts a shadow

Okay the writing’s HILARIOUS. Hearing all the wild stories in Percy’s sassy voice is the best thing ever. This is a good source if you want to simply get to know the stories of the Greek gods, without any scholarly commitment or in-depth knowledge!

I’ve started reading this after watching the 2020 movie, which is AMAZING and made me fall absolutely in love. I hope the book will be as good!

I’m so pumped reading this!!! I’m still getting introduced to all the characters, but my heart already has a very special spot for January. I’m also loving the mysterious unravelling of the MMC! And it’s Emily Henry, of course - the banter is top tier. The FMC’s difficult life trajectory is appropriately offset by the humour, which makes this a perfect read to snuggle with and get invested in!

This story just gets better and better. As a rule I’m not a fan of teen romances, but this is exceeding all my expectations!

I just finished the first proper scene. And it’s- it’s marvellous, y’all. I hate and love Lord Henry, and Dorian Gray confuses me to no end - I pity Basil for having been forced into this predicament, really. Though the fact that he has such intriguing friends makes Basil himself a very interesting character…

I’m crying so hard right now.
The romance is really beautiful. The different types of loves, and the nuances of them all, it’s laid out so wonderfully.
But this story is about so much more.
It’s about the characters figuring themselves out, finding themselves - and breaking out of themselves. About accepting one’s own flaws and accepting love for yourself.

Oscar Wilde’s writing is AMAZING. His descriptions, his dialogue, and the way he sets the tone, it’s all brilliant. True dark academia material. (Cassie fans, it reminds me SO MUCH of Matthew Fairchild.) Though, the short intro I’ve had to Dorian Gray is unnerving? He’s like- a manchild, honestly. Can’t wait to see how this progresses!

This looks very promising! It’s got the classic romcom elements, but it’s breaking stereotypes - the MMC is Asian, and almost five years younger than the heroine. It’s bringing lots of dimensions to the story that aren’t usually explored. I also love the public radio angle! Yes, I’m nostalgic about Sleepless in Seattle. It also reminds me of Isabel Wolff’s book The Making of Minty Malone (I recommend!)

DON’T BELIEVE THE TITLE. ITS NOT A ROMANCE. At least, not yet.
That being said, I haven’t enjoyed a read as much as this one in quite a while. It’s emotionally intense, but written in this sweet, wholesome way that makes one want to actually read further

This shit is STRAIGHT out of a Bollywood movie, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much. The characters are so accurately shaped by their desi upbringing as well. (Though I’m having a bit of trouble reconciling the desi facade with all the smut. Not used to it, lol)

Much as I hate to say it, this is some of the most accurate desi representation I’ve ever seen in a book, even if it’s characteristic to the diaspora

I really had a problem with Levi at first, but he’s getting much better!
