"Se retiraba su habitación, se acostaba y se quedaba de nuevo a solas con ella. Cara a cara.

Third and last part of the books. Every step to the Capitol is more symbolic than literal. It's as if everyone went into the heart of human corruption. And that's why the name "The Killers" is not only for the special team, but because everyone - somehow - already has blood on their hands.

That shot is the blow of reality: Katniss tries to save the morals of the cause, but the war drowns her. It is at that moment that we must understand that the enemy is not only the Capitol, but the violence itself and the thirst for power that is disguised as justice.

I had never felt such cold while reading a scene. Not a physical cold, but one that comes from the soul — the kind that leaves you frozen, with a knot in your throat. When Katniss and Peeta finally reunite, I thought it would be a moment of relief, of comfort after so much pain. But what happens is the opposite: the longed-for embrace turns into a nightmare. The purest bond in the entire story has just been broken.

“Cinna has turned her into the mockingjay.”

A clear message. A bold, elegant act of rebellion.

To face power with beauty, brilliance, and courage… that is revolution. This scene left me breathless. The most powerful protest, wrapped in silk and fire.

“We sit in silence for a while, and then I say the one thing we’re both thinking.
‘How are we going to kill these people, Peeta?’
‘I don’t know,’ he says, resting his forehead against our entwined hands. ‘I don’t want them as allies. Why did Haymitch make us get to know them? It just makes it so much harder than last time.” 💔

Sometimes, the real game is surviving without hardening your soul.

First impressions and comparison to the films: Peeta is more assertive and Katniss is more vulnerable. Absolutely. In the books, Suzanne gives the characters many more layers. Peeta isn't just the helpless good guy, and Katniss isn't just the cold, reserved hunter. There's a humanity to them that the films barely capture.

Reaching page 84 feels like a slap in the face. It’s impossible not to feel anger and helplessness as Napoleon accuses so many animals of being Snowball’s accomplices, without any real evidence. Snowball becomes a convenient ghost, blamed for everything. Literally everything. Fires, sabotage, accidents… even the weather, if they could.

I’ve never hated a pig so much. Honestly, I can’t stand Napoleon!

Comment on page 58:

Isn’t that contradictory? How can they condemn everything human and still make use of human accomplishments? Why didn’t they invent their own tools from scratch? I get that it was easier to take what already existed and claim ownership over it, but in essence, it still belongs to the human world they supposedly reject.

I'm having strange moments reading this, sometimes I feel like I'm one of the tributes in the arena. Although it wouldn't be like Katniss but rather it would be Peeta

Since I'm an extra, I put on a suspenseful playlist that doesn't help my nerves, but the important thing is how real everything feels LMAO

So far I'm liking it, it's being easy to read. It's just that when I watch the movies first I hate the feeling of sometimes knowing what's going to happen, I kind of regret the fact that I watch the movies first. But I hope this book surprises me.
