I genuinely don't understand Shan. She thinks low of Isaac for assimilating and not wanting to "tear down the system" but there's no evidence she wants to do the same besides I guess killing the king. But even then she's using the same network of spies, following the same rules, and seeking power within the system itself. Maybe it'll bite her in the ass later who knows.

Samuel has 0 consistent characterization. You can not tell me this is a guy who made it a point to spend his whole life avoiding Blood Workers and have him not even flinch when Shan uses blood work to heal his razor cuts. I don't know what he stands for, at all.

Maybe I need to get physical copies and reread the last two books because I feel like the Jezal thing was kind of an asspull. Like Bayaz had been plotting to put him on the throne since book 1 but nothing about him being a king's bastard.

Then again I wonder if he actually is the king's bastard. It'd be ultimately more funny if Bayaz stole a random baby and made up the whole story
