After stalling out for months, and acquiring Kindle, i've taken a fresh crack at this book.

i first read this one years ago, when i was definitely much too young to really get the thrust of Zinn's work, but some pieces here and there are familiar.

my key takeaway from the book insofar is that it moves incredibly quickly, and requires some really close reading in-the-moment.

very good so far. the bootcamp sequence clearly pulls on Heinlein's own personal experiences and some other parts of his politics are evident.

As of right now, the book seems to be setting up a wide range of characters and circumstances that will all converge on the Exposition in the main body of the work.
