Marcellus has been assigned to work at Minoa, much to the dismay of his family. He and Demetrius see the crucifixion of Jesus, and Marcellus has won His robe. He is now haunted by what he has seen and is not mentally well. Tiberius, the emperor and grandfather of Diana, who is in love with Marcellus, sends to get him back, and his family is worried about how he is doing.
